2. Principles of Data Processing

The protection of your personal data is important to us. This Privacy Policy informs you about what data is processed when using the VolleyRecon application (hereinafter "App") and what rights you have.

The processing of personal data is carried out exclusively within the framework of legal regulations, in particular the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).

3. Nature and Scope of Data Processing

3.1 No Collection of Personal Data

VolleyRecon is a purely local desktop application that does not transmit any personal data to external servers or third parties.

The App was developed following the principle of data minimization and deliberately avoids:

• Registration or creation of user accounts
• Collection of personal identification data (name, email, phone number)
• Tracking or analysis of user behavior
• Integration of tracking tools (Analytics, Cookies, etc.)
• Data transmission over the Internet
• Cloud services or external servers

3.2 Locally Stored Settings

The App stores only technically necessary settings locally on your device to ensure functionality:

a) App Settings (SharedPreferences)

- Purpose: Storage of user preferences (e.g., theme selection: Light/Dark mode)

- Legal Basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (Necessary for contract performance/use of the App)

- Storage Location: Local device storage

- Stored Data:

• Theme setting (light/dark)
• Last used file paths (optional, for user convenience)

- Retention Period: Until app uninstallation or manual deletion

- Access: Only you and the App on your device

This data remains exclusively on your device and is not transmitted.

3.3 Processing of User Files

The App enables opening and processing of the following file types:

- DVW Files (.dvw): Scouting files with volleyball match information

- Video Files: Associated match recordings

Important Notes:

- You select the files yourself using the integrated file selection dialog

- Files are only read and processed locally on your device

- No transmission of files to external servers or third parties

- The App accesses only files you explicitly authorize

- No automatic collection of files from your system

3.4 No Third-Party Services

The App uses no third-party services that could process personal data:

The App requires the following system permissions:

- File Access: Only to DVW and video files selected by you

These permissions serve exclusively for the App's functionality and are not used for other purposes.

4. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data:

- Local Processing: All data is processed exclusively on your device

- No Transmission: No data is transmitted over the Internet

- No Passwords: No credentials are stored

- Transparency: Open-source components allow for verifiability

Your Own Responsibility:

Since the App works purely locally, the security of your data is your responsibility:

• Protect your device with a password
• Keep your operating system up to date
• Use antivirus software
• Create backups of your important files

5. Data Sharing

There is no sharing of data with third parties because:

• The App does not transmit data over the Internet
• No integration with external services exists
• All processing occurs locally on your device

6. Retention Period

- App Settings: Until app uninstallation

- File Path References: Until uninstallation or settings reset

- Your DVW and Video Files: Remain unchanged at their original storage location

The App does not delete, modify, or copy your original files.

7. Your Rights under GDPR

As a data subject, you have the following rights:

You have the right to obtain information about personal data processed by us.

Implementation: Uninstall the App to remove all locally stored settings.

8. No Use of Cookies

Since this is a desktop application and not a website, no cookies are used.

9. No Processing in Third Countries

Since no data transmission occurs, there is also no transfer to third countries (outside the EU/EEA).

10. Privacy for Minors

The App is aimed at coaches, analysts, and sports enthusiasts of all ages. No data from minors is specifically collected or processed.

Parents and legal guardians should supervise use by minors.

11. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in legal requirements or changes to the App.
